Holistic Healing for Families Impacted

by the Disease of Alcoholism or Addiction

Recover. Rebuild. Restore.

– At The Refuge we believe in supporting the family through education.  Learning about what to do and what not to do is critical not only for your benefit but for the benefit of the addict as well.

Fear, anger, resentment, worry, and a whole host of other emotions drive individuals to engage in behaviours that are destructive for the addict and the family unit as a whole.

Living with an addict causes trauma and stress for everyone in the family. Parents of a child suffering from addiction often feel hopeless. The fear of losing a child, parent, sibling, or spouse to addiction can be all consuming and lead to severe spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical health risks. When family members focus solely on the addict, they often disregard their own well-being and the well-being of other family members. Living with an addict is all consuming and can leave everyone feeling helpless, hopeless, and stuck.  Book studies are a good way to address these issues in an informal group setting.  We offer these studies in person or online.
